Moving from abroad: the first ninety days
Tax numbers, notaries, schools and where to buy a decent loaf of bread. A relocation checklist from someone who has done it four times.

Before you fly
Get your tax number and open a local bank account remotely if you can — both are needed for almost everything that follows. We can recommend lawyers who handle this for a fixed fee.
Schedule video viewings for your shortlist. We walk through each home live, open the cupboards and point the camera at the ceilings.
The first month
Register with a local doctor, enrol the children in school and transfer the utilities. We send every relocating client a binder with the contacts we trust.
And then
Give yourself time. Most families tell us it takes about three months before the new city starts to feel like home.
Questions about your own move?
Our agents answer the phone themselves. Book a call or a viewing, and we’ll take it from there.
